Wedding no. 2

Its all so amazing! A different crowd, a different vibe, different kind of jubliation and different minor disasters, but same amazing feeling of love and support. The Chicago wedding was just more of the love, and I’m not sure how we can ever give enough back.

It started before we got there, when Hotwire gave us a Lincoln Town Car for $18.95 a day. Our wedding boat would be a black limo with which we could shuffle around people and luggage the right way. Meghan and I picked it up at Midway on Tuesday night, and I have to admit I really liked it. It was everything a wedding car should be - and it made me wish more cars had bench seats. Nothing like riding with your honey at your side.

My first official act of the wedding week was to get some work out of the way - I went to a customer’s shop of Wednesday morning to work on a Suzuki Hayabusa on a Chassis Dyno. The last time I’d run that kind of motorcycle on that kind of test stand, it landed me in the hospital. This time, we made 441 horsepower (more than your average Corvette) and I got to ride it around the block. Better still, I was done by 1pm, soon enough to meet up with my Mom, Reena and bride at the tailor. My mom was some cool, she had 2 Kurtas (the type of outfit I wore to the rehersal dinner) custom made for the wedding. From there we drove downtown to catch a Cubs game. It was my first game ever at Wrigley Field and we got to see the Cubs win in the top of the 9th! After that, we met up with my friend Tim who had flown in from Japan just for the wedding for drinks.

We woke up at a reasonable hour on Thursday morning and ran off to do errands. I hung out with my dad and visited the hall we had rented while the girls ran around town. That evening, Meghan had her Mendi party (where they put henna tatoos on the Bride’s arms and legs) while I did an airport run…..

The rest of the story, to be continued.

Dude, Why didn’t we get some of those cool threads? I want a Kurta. Cool pictures I was jamming some three dog while I looked at the slide show ;)
You’re a lucky man Neel. Keep treating her right, she has lot’s of brothers. It’s funny in the last few months you’ve been married twice to the same girl, and yet no lawyers were involved.
Lucky! but seriously it looks like we missed a good time yet again.
Jen gets mad at you every time she gets moody, because it didn’t happen in SC but now…
She curses you for calling it.
I can’t believe you put in a half day on the dyno.
good times. when are you out this way again?
