I’ve been using this piece of free software called Simplify Media for a few months now that allows me to listen to music on my home computer from work. Once you install the software on both computers, the remote computer’s music shows up in iTunes as a “Shared” library in the sidebar. Pretty simple.
The feature that makes this really cool is that you can invite other people to listen to your music collection. They can’t download the music, just listen, which hopefully keeps The Man happy.
The only issue I’ve found is that other people can’t listen to music that you purchased at the iTunes Store with DRM. Otherwise, it seems pretty good.
So, if you’re interested, download the software and send me an email with your username.

Buying music on I-tunes is such a scam. I bought the song, let me share it with my friends if I want… Arghh…

But iTunes makes it so easy, that’s the problem.
I’ll do my best to check out Amazon’s new music service first from now on.
